C.Q.P.S. and Oklahoma Fashion Alliance Present, “Behind The Scenes of Runway”

Oklahoma Fashion Alliance presents a runway show and performance art piece entitled, “Behind the Scenes of Runway.” The behind-the-scenes work of hair, makeup, and wardrobe are enacted within the gallery space at Tulsa Artist Fellowship x Flagship as visitors view the newly opened Center for Queer Prairie Studies exhibition.  Models will proceed to catwalk through the streets of the Tulsa Arts District, ending in a final runway with twenty models and eight designers.  Each designer will also feature both their garments on rotation in a permanent display at the Center for Queer Prairie Studies in the Tulsa Artist Fellowship x Flagship and Archer Annex sites. Conceived of and operated by Parker D. Wayne, the Oklahoma Fashion Alliance (OFA) is an opportunity for anyone with an enthusiasm for the industry to collaborate with various local artists, including designers, models, stylists, photographers, and creative directors. OFA aims to pave the way for couture fashion in smaller cities, and rural Oklahoma, by hosting shows, networking events, and workshops- bringing a touch of theatrics and camp to the local runways. Parker D. Wayne is a multi-disciplinary artist, whose passions include fashion, creative direction, performance art, editorial design, and podcasting. The common thread throughout their mediums is a sharp focus on the importance of individuality and self-expression.  Since the summer of 2020, Parker is consistently working in collaboration with local brands, artists, and organizations to spread the word of shameless, authentic expression.

Tulsa Artist Fellowship was established in 2015 as a program dedicated to addressing the most pressing challenges in artistic communities and serving as a globally recognized model for mobilizing communities with the transformative power of art.

With the belief that arts are critical to the advancement of cultural citizenship, Tulsa Artist Fellowship supports both local and national artists while enriching the Tulsa community. Tulsa Artist Fellowship is a George Kaiser Family Foundation initiative.
