In response to the violent attacks against a local business supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community, Tulsa Remote, Studio 66/CQPS, The Prism Project, Oklahomans for Equality's Equality Business Alliance and the Tulsa Artist Fellowship present "It's Giving." A community solidarity event, "It's Giving" features a potluck meal donated by local restaurants, native drag and puppet performances curated by Apvlvnev Piña and Karl Jones through the Tulsa Artist Fellowship, DJs and dancing courtesy of Studio 66 and the Center for Queer Prairie Studies and a special appearance by members of the Equality Business Alliance.

6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. | "It's Giving... Community," The Canopy: Studio 66 x Equality Business Alliance Mixer & Potluck.

9:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. | "It's Giving... Drag as Art" Chimera Ballroom, Studio 66 x Tulsa Artist Fellowship Present a drag cabaret featuring Sage Chanell and Her Relatives, an all native drag experience.

10:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. | "It's Giving... Dance" Chimera Ballroom, a night of friends, fun, dancing and lewks!

Karl Jones is a writer, editor, performer and visual artist. Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma he now lives in Brooklyn, New York making performance and visual work while writing and editing children’s literature for Penguin Random House. He has appeared at NYC venues such as Dixon Place, Roseland Ballroom, Magnet Theatre, The Tank, THNK 1994 Museum, House of Yes, and the Pyramid Club, as well as cultural institutions throughout the United States including the Hirshorn Museum (DC), the San Francisco LGBT Center (SF), and the Walters Art Museum (Baltimore). Prior to living in Brooklyn, he curated and performed at nightlife and museum events in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore region working with artists and musicians including Taylor Mac, Erin Markey, ellen cherry, Dynasty Handbag and Leslie Hall. His most recent project, the Karl Marks Children’s Hour is a community art-making project featuring collaborative crafting and interactive storytelling.

Apvlvnev Piña is an interdisciplinary researcher of Mvskoke, Xicana, Scots-Irish, and French lineage. Apollonia’s life as an indigenous activist started with her Native and Xicano parents and informs her work in academia and community involvement in Northeast Oklahoma. Presently, she is the Tulsa chapter organizer for the Matriarch organization and developer of an indigenous-centered STEM camp for Native youth. Her research interests include non-Western perspectives in science and math, indigenous sexuality and womanism, and promoting Natives in STEM. She is the founder of Green Corn Medics, a street medic crew that provides care to those in need during direct actions. Piña is also one of ten 2021-2022 On Being fellows. She enjoys scouting rare books, rock and roll, origin stories, and connecting the dots. She resides on the Mvskoke reservation in Tvlse, Okla Humma with her son and recently began work as an Emergency Room Nurse!

Sage Chanell, AKA Sage Runsabove (Shawnee, Ponca, Otoe, and Lakota Sioux) is a former Miss International Two-Spirit residing in Norman, Oklahoma. Sage is the co-chair to the Central Oklahoma Two Spirit Society, a mentor for Cousins, the Oklahoma Youth Two Spirit program and a former Miss Gay Tulsa Newcomer.
