In First Friday, TAF Announcements

Join us at both our Archer (109 N. MLK, Jr. Blvd. E.) and Cameron (303 N. Main St.) locations for open studios and performances. Tulsa Artist Fellows will open their studios to share their contemporary arts practices with the community. Artistic disciplines include photography, poetry, painting, sculpture, graphic novels, multimedia and more. In addition, there will be a variety of engaging programming opportunities throughout the night.

POP-UP PERFORMANCE // TONGUE BETWEEN TEETH SLIGHTLY OPEN // 6PM & 8PM

“Tongue Between Teeth Slightly Open” is a new choreographic work by Hanako Hoshimi-Caines and Elisa Harkins.  The work is based on the score “Excerpt from Kenneth Gaburo Part One” by Nate Wooley.  The piece explores the sentence ‘The creative act consists not only in the stipulation and formation of concrete structures but in responsible maintenance of them’.

Curated by Blackhorse Lowe, CINEDOOM: Indigenous Cinema Expanded is the 3rd iteration of Lowe’s ongoing series showcasing contemporary Indigenous filmmakers that are working at the edges of conventional “colonized” cinema. Films begin at 6PM with a second screening at 7:30PM. Come and go as you please.
