Adam Carnes is a Brooklyn based artist who received his MFA from the New York Academy of Art and BFA from the Ringling College of Art and Design. His portraits are focused on the human condition. In this contemporary climate of technology, he strives to maintain his connection with humanity through painting. Most of his subjects are individuals that he has known or met. He takes great efforts to convey a presence and portray the experience he had with the individual. This primal practice keeps him rooted and balanced in a tumultuous world. You can find his published work in The Figure, which was featured in Hyperallergic and is being sold in museum book stores such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery of Art and Royal Academy.
