Jave Yoshimoto is an artist and educator of multi-cultural background. He was born in Japan to Chinese parents and immigrated to United States at a young age. Yoshimoto has received his BA from UC Santa Barbara, his MA in Art Therapy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and his MFA in Painting at Syracuse University. Yoshimoto has been published on multiple publications and websites, received a letter of recognition from the United Nations, 2015 recipient of the Joan Mitchell Foundation’s Painter’s and Sculptor’s grant and exhibited works nationally and internationally. Yoshimoto currently works as an Assistant Professor of Art at University of Nebraska at Omaha, teaching foundations level courses.
