The Tulsa Artist Fellowship presents quarterly writers’ salons to provide an opportunity for the community to engage with and enjoy works by TAF literary artists. The most recent TAF Writers’ Salon featured literary artists Anna Badkhen, Melanie Gillman and Simon Han. Hosted at the newly renovated Tulsa Central Library, the salon audience was able to enjoy a lovely evening with readings from various categories of literature.

Melanie Gillman reads from their non-fiction comic.

The evening commenced with Simon Han reading a short story, “NC-17,” which is forthcoming in Fence Magazine, followed by Melanie Gillman‘s narration and presentation of a sampling of their nonfiction comics, with Anna Badkhen finishing the evening by reading from Walking with Abel (Riverhead Books, 2015), her most recently published book of lyrical nonfiction.

TAF would like to thank all of our attendees, the Tulsa City-County Library, Magic City Books and our salon moderator Grant Jenkins. TAF Writers’ Salons are truly a literary gathering for all and we look forward to meeting again during our December 2017 salon (details forthcoming).

If you are in the Tulsa area, be sure to keep up with literary events through BookSmart Tulsa. TAF is looking forward to partnering with BookSmart Tulsa for these upcoming events:
