TULSA GLITTERARY: FEATURING GEORGE HENSON

Tulsa Gliterary returns with two exciting authors and translators to kick off the annual series of readings and discussions! We are excited to introduce Tobias Wray and Tulsa Artist Fellow George Henson for the month of May 2023. 

George Henson is a translator of contemporary Latin American prose. His work has appeared, among other venues, in Asymptote, The Guardian, Granta, The Paris Review Daily, The New England Review, Words Without Borders, World Literature Today, and Latin American Literature Today. He is the author of twelve book-length translations, including works by Cervantes Prize laureates Elena Poniatowska and Sergio Pitol. His translation of Pitol's novel Taming the Divine Heron is due out in July with Deep Vellum Publishing. A 2021–2023 Tulsa Artist Fellow, he is a fifth-generation Oklahoman. He lives in Tulsa with his Havanese, Henry Pipo.
