Explore open studios with Tulsa Artist Fellowship awardees, alongside two major exhibitions and live music throughout our spaces. Free and open to all—come spend the evening with us.
Tulsa Artist Fellowship and The Hulett Collection present Futuro Imperfecto, an exhibition of recent works by Miguel Braceli. For more than a decade, Braceli has created performances, installations, photography, and video that examine the polarized and disorienting conditions of today’s political climate in both his native Venezuela and the United States. Collaborative performances such as Área (2014), in which seventy participants occupy the Plaza de Caracas while outlining a shared “area” with a long textile band, transform a space of contention into one of collective cohesion. More recent works expand Braceli’s inquiry into political polarization in the United States. Geopolitical Games (2020) stages an imagined contest with red and blue balls, ending in literal and symbolic deflation—an oblique meditation on nationalist gamesmanship and rising authoritarianism. Through poetic interventions in public space, Braceli gives tangible form to the forces shaping our “imperfect future.”
At Flagship, Le’Andra LeSeur’s Monument Eternal offers a rigorous and affecting examination of monuments built to uphold racist legacies and their lasting psychological and emotional impact on Black communities. Through video, sculpture, photography, and sound, LeSeur constructs an embodied archive—centering presence in dialogue with histories of erasure and absence.
Throughout the evening, visitors are invited to meet artists and learn about their processes firsthand. Complimentary beverages will be provided by Heirloom Rustic Ales, with live mixes by DJ Xavier.
