FIRST FRIDAYS: MAY 2026

FIRST FRIDAYS

Friday, May 1, 2026 | 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Tulsa Artist Fellowship Studios
109 MLK Jr. Blvd E. Tulsa, OK 74103

Since 2016, Tulsa Artist Fellowship has hosted First Fridays—a free monthly series celebrating awardees, alumni, and the Tulsa community. Visitors are invited to explore open studios, exhibitions, and live programming throughout our studios, roof terrace, and galleries.

This month, we’re pleased to feature a collaboration with Tulsa Opera.

Art at the Opera invites visual artists to attend a Tulsa Opera production and create new work in response. This season, nine artists were inspired by The Pirates of Penzance and will present and sell their work during First Friday.

On the roof terrace, experience a special performance by Tulsa Opera’s Filstrup Resident Artist Company at 7 PM.

Also on view: Futuro Imperfecto, presented in partnership with The Hulett Collection, featuring Tulsa Artist Fellow Miguel Braceli. For more than a decade, Braceli has created performances, installations, photography, and video examining the political and social conditions shaping life in Venezuela and the United States. Through poetic interventions in public space, his work gives tangible form to the forces shaping our “imperfect future.”

Throughout the evening, visitors can meet artists and learn about their processes firsthand. Complimentary beverages will be provided by Heirloom Rustic Ales.

First Fridays are free and open to all.

Continue the evening with our neighbors—LowDown offers a special $5 cover from 6–9 PM with live jazz in their listening room, and Guthrie Green presents the Inspyral Fire Circus from 8–10 PM, a free outdoor performance featuring acrobatics, choreography, and fire-based spectacle.

Flagship will reopen on First Friday, June 5.
